Two days, just the two of you

Two days with nobody to answer to & nobody tells on anyone.

Mum is away and the weekend is yours. What gets eaten in these 48 hours is your call. So is what gets photographed.

  • Set €59
  • Dad XS to XXL, kid from 92
  • Delivery in 5–8 business days

Friday, five in the afternoon.

The door shuts, the car pulls away, and the two of you stand in the hallway looking at each other. Two days is a long time when nobody has a plan. And a very short one when you do.

It starts with getting dressed.

The same shirt, without announcing it. From that moment it is not an adult and a child getting through Saturday, it is two people out together. Children pick that up immediately.

Dad and son side by side in cinema seats, both in black shirts with a small popcorn chest print

Popcorn

Lights down, box open, legs that do not reach the floor yet. At some point this weekend exactly that happens, and then the evening belongs to nobody else.

Why it turns into a thing

  1. It turns two days into one event.

Not two separate days with activities, but an edition of something you can repeat. Next time he asks whether you are wearing the shirts again.

  2. It survives whatever you plan.

Woods, puddles, chips, sofa. 30 degrees in the machine, and by Sunday evening none of it shows.

  3. The photos get better.

You take three hundred pictures on a weekend like that. In every second one you can see at a glance that you belong together.

The plan for 48 hours

The mistake is planning too much. Three items are enough, and one of them is doing nothing.

Friday evening
Get changed, pizza, a film that is honestly too long. The weekend opens with a rule being broken.
Saturday
Outside, whatever the weather. One destination, no programme. Coming home with sand in your shoes means you did it right.
Sunday
Washing machine on, flat tidied to a believable standard. The shirts are dry by the evening.

What people ask

From what age does a weekend like this work?

As soon as the two of you manage a night without mum. The shirts do not care: kid sizes start at 92, which is around the first birthday.

What if two kids come along?

Then it is three shirts. Every additional kid is €24 instead of €29.50, and every size is chosen separately.

Is it not embarrassing in front of other people?

The print is small and sits on the chest, the shirt is white. From a distance you are two people in white shirts.

Up close you can see it, and nobody who has children of their own finds that silly.

Can you give it as a present?

Yes, and it is one of the few gifts that comes with a date attached. Give a set and you are giving the weekend with it.
