What size, when the child is four days old
The number on the kid shirt is height in centimetres, not age. We start at 92, and 92 fits from roughly the first birthday. For a newborn that makes it a gift on a delay: it waits a year in the wardrobe and then fits exactly.

Does size 92 fit a newborn?
No. 92 fits from around the first birthday. If the baby has just arrived, the shirt is for their first summer together, not for the visits next week.
We do not go smaller, on purpose. A shirt in 56 is outgrown in four weeks. This one gets worn once the child is already walking.
I do not know his size.
Ask the mother, she knows. Failing that: the dad cut runs one size wider than a standard tee. Someone who usually wears M is well dressed in M and comfortable in L.
Will it arrive in time for the first visit?
Delivery takes 5–8 business days. For a weekend visit, order the week before.
Honestly, a parcel a few weeks later is better anyway. In week one half the family is already in the hallway.
